Anti-Shphon Ball Removal

I have a little cabin. In the past when running out of gas for my generator or chainsaw I'd siphon a bit out of my pickup. I recently started driving a 2012 Dodge Caravan. On my first attempt at siphoning gas I found the path was blocked. I learned that modern cars have anti-siphon balls in the filler tube.

Can anyone offer any advice on how I might remove this thing?

Preferably without dropping the tank...

I'd drill it out with a long flexi bit but I'm not sure what its made of and don't want to leave debris in the tank.

It would be a lot simpler to carry a can or two of fuel in the bed of the pickup.

I use a piece of snowmobile gas line, mine is blue about 3/8" OD. Sometimes you have to jack it around a bit to get by whatever is in there but it works. Not sure what a Dodge has though, might work.

I think if I was determined to do this I would pick up a filler neck at the wrecking yard and remove the ball from it and get it ready to install.
I'd keep the original to re-install for when you sell the van or if the SHTF.

Thanks

I did try a length of 1/4" tubing but I couldn't get it around the ball.

I didn't realize the ball unit would be integrated into the filler neck. I thought I might just be able to access and remove the ball. I'd not thought however of just replacing the filler neck. This is a really good idea. If I need to drop the tank it's not really a big deal, just something I was hoping to avoid out of laziness.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Very much appreciated.
