Headlight extreamly dim

2001 Pontiac Montana. Driver side headlight is so dim you can look right into it and see both elements glowing. They are these HID equivalent bulbs off of the internet that are brighter then normal bulbs but no modification required. I used them before in a 91 olds we had. Anyway the passenger side is working and are all taillights but the headlight on the driver side is very dim. Could it be a bad bulb? I also see no difference between and High and low beam but that could be the bulb design.

It is possible you have a corrosive connection. Remove the plug and make sure all the connections are solid and replace the plug. It is highly likely you got a bad bulb as well, but check your connections first.

The headlight lens is clean, right? If the lens of both sides are the same, I'd suspect a bad connection like Larry said. Shouldn't be too hard to swap the 2 bulbs to rule that out.

The lenses are clean I can tell the bulb is very dim. No other lights are affected just the one light. They did work but just now noticed one was dim. will Look at it this weekend. Worse case just won't drive at night. To access the bulb I have to remove the lens assembly cause there is no room to get my hand in so will try this weekend.

Connector is fine no corrosiun. Put the orignal builb that I took out back in and it works. turn the headlight knob once side marker lights come on. turn it again headlights come on. Might upgrade to LED headlights.

I've used these HID equivalents before in the 91 olds I had no issues. Maybe a bad batch.
