Piece from a 2008 Mazda 6?

I heard a noise that sounded like it was bouncing under my car as i was driving up my dirt road. Turned around just in case just to see if it was something important and I found this. Not sure if it came from my car or if it was already on the road and I happened to hit it?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I could use some help identifying the part and need to know if my car is safe to drive.

I don't know what it is, but it didn't come off a 2008 Mazda unless it was submerged in salt water for the last 3 yrs.

I haven't noticed any issues, car starts up fine, all the belts seem to be fine, no issues turning or stopping. Salt water... can't say I live by any haha.

But do you live in the north? Winter road salt? I've seen lots of corrosion that bad under cars with a northern pedigree. Might be a good idea to get it up on a rack for an inspection.

Kind of favors part of a body mount on truck or old car. Like Vic, I don't think it came from your car but I agree with TG that's it best to get under the car and make sure.

Looked sub-frame to me, too, that's why I suggested a look-see.
