2009 Buick Allure Door Lock Actuator

I need to replace 3 of these -- but the cost of having it done is prohibitive.

Have found some info on line that a 2 wire aftermarket actuator can be "sistered" to the existing one -- they cost about $5 each on Amazon.

I am not mechanically inclined whatsoever - and I was wondering if anyone has done this - and could advise me, considering my lack of knowledge, if I should even attempt this.

I was in the mobile electronics business for many years. I've replaced 100's of door lock motors. For the most part.... they are no easy job.

In your case you have an integral door catch and door lock in one unit. A general purpose door lock may not replace or activate the old lock. I'm pretty sure you'll need to replace the door lock with a similar unit.
