2008 Ford Focus scuffing sound

Hi all,
My 2008 Ford Focus front end makes a strange scuffing sound whenever I go over a dip in the road. It sounds like a "plastic on plastic" sound, and it seems worse in very cold weather. It is not the tire hitting the fender or ice build-up in the wheel well. I have not been able to re-create the sound by bouncing the front of the car by hand. The car drives fine otherwise. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Had another thread going earlier today on a Focus with front end noise. One possibility is upper strut mount/bearing/cushion.

Ball joint? I had another Ford product, Ranger, that had terrible squeak in BJ. Up/down is usually sway bar bushing. But that's knock.

Thanks guys. I kinda suspected something strut related but just wanted more input. I'll dig into it as soon as possible.
