Welcome to the forums!

I don't know anything specific to your vehicle but are you sure you are using the right size plug socket? I've never seen a sparkplug that got rounded off. Can you access them with vise grips?

In the USA there are 2 standard sized plugs; 5/8" and 11/16" I've also had small engine plugs that were 3/4" I don't know how that translates to the metric system The odds are your new plugs take the same size socket as the old ones. Are you sure it's seating all the way onto the plug? sometimes grime and such will prevent the socket from fully going onto the plug.

I think the sizes are the same here in the UK. It does feel like it's not going all the way in but when I took the picture it just looks round

If you have an air compressor you can blow out the well where the plug is. Otherwise take a screwdriver or something to rake out any debris. You might also try tapping the socket into place while turning it slightly.

I have just checked the photos again there is a black rubber ring around the plug it seems that is stopping the socket going in but I cannot see a nut I assume I have to somehow take the ring out to get under neath does that sound right

Is that rubber ring on each plug? There is a rubber grommet like piece that is part of the sparkplug socket - it might have pulled out of the socket, they just press fit in.

I only looked at 2 of them they both have that ring it seems the nut is under neath the rubber so will need some wire or something to get it out. Will have to look tomorrow now as it's dark and raining. Typical UK weather haha. Thank you for your help I will let you know how I get on

We've had more than our fair share of rain here lately although it's finally starting to dry out
I'd guess those rubber grommets are to help seal the plug and ignition wire from moisture.
