bad tires?

Bought a new trailer and didn't notice the "abnormalities" on the tire. I'm thinking it's dangerous and needs replacing. Received an email saying indentations and undulations are normal. What say you?

There are some guys here that know more about tires.

I say that looks like a high-quality trailer tire. I have similar flat tread profile trailer tires and paid a premium price for them.
Mine have undulations in the sidewalls, not as pronounced as yours. I paid a premium for the tires to have confidence in them, and I do.

I've seen those on the tires I use on my wrecker; have never had a problem.

In 40 years of auto, those indents are normal. Where the beads come together.

I've had those dents on my tires on my personal vehicles and never had an issue with them.

You can always go to
Recalls & Defects | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

And do a search. If you subscribe to them you will get periodic e-mails on safety issues and product recalls. Many are related to tires. Almost everyday there is a food warning or advisory. Kind of makes you think.

" Received an email saying indentations and undulations are normal."

Who did you receive the email from? The tire manufacturer or cousin Vinny ?? .....

Next time you are in a tire store or Wal-mart take a good look at the tires on display most will look like yours.

Email was forwarded from the trailer manufacturer, an outfit in Kewanee, IL. Everything else on the trailer seems top notch. Very satisfied with the workmanship.
