Mighty Vac Brake Bleeder Conversion
I have a Mighty Vac brake bleeder kit and was wondering if there is an easy way to convert the hand pump so that it applies pressure rather than vacuum. I'd like to use it to pressure test a radiator cap and a radiator. I noticed on their website that they have an MV8500 pump that has a reversing switch, but was hoping maybe mine could be converted as well. I can get just the pump for about $60, which isn't bad, but it isn't obvious if I can buy just the radiator/cap attachments.

When you put pressure in the system, you are pressurizing all of it, including the heater core. If you put a hole it that, you won't be a happy camper. Forget about it.

The heater core is pressurized same as the radiator so it will survive being tested to the system pressure.

You missed my point. If the cap is rated at 16psi and is working correctly that core and radiator are always at that pressure so testing AT THAT PRESSURE presents no new hazard.
