How to make interior lights dim when door closes?

Hi everyone.
Heres what i want to do: make my interior lights dim when teh doors are closed.
When i closes my cars door, the interior lights just turn off.
This is an older car, 1995 acura integra, even on some cars the same years or older, the lights dim out then turn off rather than just turn off.
On my newer car i love the way the interior lights dim out when the car doors close.

Everything works fine, but I just want to put the work into the car so i can have the lights dim off rather than just turn off.

I want to know if there is something i can add to the wires right before the lights to allow the lights to dim out.
Perhaps something that will gradually kill the power.

Im mechanically inclined but im not sure what i could use in the light wire harness to achieve this...

Any help on this topic will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

That is a pretty cool effect. In the link below is an easy to install module that will do what you want. If you look at the bottom of the page..... you'll see ads for other similar modules.

Whoa thanks for the link and reply PJmax!

According to the wire digram in the link, can you confirm the following please.

Black wire: goes to vehicle ground.
Red wire: goes to existing 12v power supply of the dome light.
Blue and green wire: go to existing ground wire of the dome light.
Orange wire: I'm assuming goes to the ignition switch. I Splice the orange wire into a constant 12v wire or a wire that that only recieves 12v when key is on?

Why does the diagram say i can have an optional connection between the blue and green wire?

Thanks.

The one I left the original link for is sold so I can't see it's wiring diagram.

Dome lights work in one of two ways.... the 12v + is switched at the door switch to the light.
This is typically how most Fords are set up.

The other method is the dome light is switched to ground at the door switch.

Some of the models are brand specific based on what I just explained and some are universal.
