Small leak after Subaru Forester 2012 engine replacement

Subaru Forester 2012 engine seized at 110,000 miles. Not sure why, but it was not due to lack of oil or not doing proper oil changes.

Engine was replaced by Subaru dealer last Friday. Have observed in driveway small amount reddish brown fluid (teaspoon or less) on front passenger side about one foot in from tire.

Can I assume this is likely a transmission fluid leak related to the engine replacement? Thanks for all responses.

No matter, it should be resolved by Subaru since they did the engine replacement and had to crack the cases to do it.

Thanks chandler. Would you mind explaining what you mean by "crack the case".

Thanks.

They had to open parts or move them.

When an engine is replaced, they have to remove it from the tranny. Usually that seal in between the two in older cars tends to leak. They might have not put something back correcty, wither gaskets, or overall the two parts. Does the car shake in Drive? Try to diagnose the leak yourself and see where its coming from. Either way, subaru has to remedy the problem.
