2009 Saturn vue no crank no start

2009 Saturn vue no crank no start

Hi, my brother did something to our car and now it won't crank everything else is fine lights work radio mirrors work but he must have unplugged some switch inside the cabin because our hood is dent and we can't get it to open can anyone tell me what I can try to do to get it started

Wow, that is a tall order.

It would help to know what kind of work was done so as to narrow it down to likely suspects.

First question: Do the brake lights come on when you step on the brake?

yea tough one, first question, is car in park, interlock will not allow the engine to crank if not!

It is in park and brake lights do work everything works the same just when you try to start it it won't crank n I noticed sometimes when I tried to start it it would lose power and key would be stuck n I would wait a min and it would work cud it be that he unplugged something on the battery?

Ask your brother why the hood is dented and to fix your car !!

Fuses.... have you checked all your fuses? Could be he did something & simply blew a fuse. I'd start with an ignition fuse but check them all. Could be any one of them. If fuses are all good, my next try would be looking at the starter.

But as others have said, that's just guessing. More info on what he did or was trying to do might help us narrow something down.

My wild guess is it's ignition lock. It finally gave up.

I really hate to mention this.... But there are dem wires coming out of the ignition lock you know... Ones they hotwire in movies.... Just saying...

Thanks for all ur input guys I ended up checking interior fuse box n looked at the diagram n noticed ignition switch fuse was missing so I took the 2amp spare fuse n put it in n the car started no problem hooray wow wut an aswipe haha thanks again guys.
