What, no antenna wire? Every car radio I have ever seen had an antenna wire but not all had a dial light wire.

And the radio had tubes in it ....
Plus a "vibrator" to make the pulsing DC needed for transformer operation. Until about 1958 or so anyway. My daddy had a '58 Ford that had a hybrid radio, mostly tubes but a pair of transistors in the power supply instead of a vibrator.

Forgot that. Yep wrapped a wire around a nail, stuck it in the antenna jack and ran the wire up to the rear view mirror.

Forgot about the under dash mounted reverb unit. Just a long set of coils between the radio and the speakers that would make a delay in some sounds. Hit a railroad track, however, and it was the end of the earth.
