98 Bravada w/ smart track

Hello, I am new here and this is my first post.
My daughter has a 98 Bravada with smart track and the "Service AWD" light is on.
I want to check the module "TCCM" connections. The things I found on line put the module on the drivers side behind the dash and in the kick panel on the passenger side. I have searched Google but I get video's and image's of too many other modules from different vehicles.
Were should I looks first. Also, is the smart track and the push button shifting the same? (the module part number, the encoder, and is it in the same place...?)
Also, Can I reset the light manually by use of the OBD2 port? (Just to see if it comes back on.)

Another issue with the Bravada.
It has 195000 Miles on it, the transmission fluid stinks and is tan/brown.
Change it on leave it? If I change it with or with out the filter too?
I have heard too many transmission failure story's after a fluid change.
THANKS
Denny

You can reset the light with the OBD2 reader. Make sure that you make a note of & google the code. That will tell you if one of the sensors is bad.

It's a crap shoot on the transmission fluid. Which is it, tan or brown?

If it's more tan than brown, I think that you can change it. Check the fluid again. Make sure that there are no pieces of metal in it.

up date on transmission fluid change.
I had a bad thermostat and I also noted a small crack in radiator. So I installed a new thermostat and picked up and installed a good used radiator. I changed out the coolant line connectors. (DORMAN 800607 and 800605) The bottom line (transmission line) did not snap in all the way and on the test run it released the oil. I left a nice trail, I re-snapped the line and add 5 Qts. it has been working fine so far. I took it on a 250 mi. trip with out ant issues. Now I need to find the problem with the AWD. The light is on and 3 snap on scan tool's that have been tried cant connect. I found no bad fuse's.

No bad fuse but what about a sensor? Google the code.

AWD light

I have tried 3 $nap-on scan tools (2 newer, 1 older). 2 would not connect and the one that did, did not have any code other then one I knew about.

Is 98 OBD1? Could that be the reason? Something is lighting the light.
