welll.......thats why i came to this site. sorry to admit this, but i do not know what the 'blend door'
is, or how to find it. Is it under the hood, or is it located inside the cab underneat the control panel?

Thanks for the reply...

i did find a video on the blend door actuator. how do i check to see if it is working properly or not. it look like it comes out easily. Do i just buy a new one and try it out....or is there some way to know if that is the problem, or is not the problem?

I've never worked on the electronic ones, the old type had a linkage that opened/closed the door. It's normally located under the dash on the middle to passenger side. If the door opens/closes it's operating properly. If it doesn't move you are probably stuck on heat.

1999 chevy silverado air conditioner problem

thanks for the tip. the chevy blend door actuator. It does exattly what you said...i causes a door to open or close and i can purchase one for about 40 bucks at autozone. I do need to get on my back and look up in there to see if I can maybe do this myself. Hopefully I will be able to determine if that is indeed the problem. If it is this will be a fairly cheap fix. Thanks for getting me going in the right direction. First i am going to see if i can get access to the unit and am able to see if the door is operating or not operating. If that is the problem I will get a new part and change the old one out....THANKS AGAIN FOR THE TIP. I TILL KEEP IN TOUCH............

Based on the truck package it could be mechanical or electronic. The door is pretty much behind the radio. Here's a good video if you have the mechanical style. A little newer truck than yours but the idea is still the same.
