Need help identifying part on 2006 BMW 325i E90
Just noticed this grommet is missing in my E90. Does anyone know the part number or the exact name? I tried looking up but I couldn't narrow down the part number. Thanks in advance!

Looks like a missing rubber plug. The easiest way to replace it is to measure the diameter and check at auto parts stores for plugs of that size.
The BMW name for that assembly is the......
Windshield Trim Panel Cover Plate 51717180744.
I found the cover everywhere but could not find any listing for the plug separately.

If it looked sort of like this any Lowe's, HD or hardware, or auto store will have them for a whole lot cheaper then an OEM part would cost and work the same..

Close Joe.... that would be a grommet and has a hole in it.
google..... 1-1/4" rubber plug and you'll see many.
1 - soft rubber plug like Joes grommet
2 - hard rubber plug.
3 - called button plugs. More of a flexible plastic.
4 - rubber plug used in Ford mustangs

it is just a plastic grommet, that gives access to the strut brace bolt. Any grommet should do. Here is what the OEM one looked like, its a plastic cover. I think it is part #51717169481, at $3.05.
