1974 Honda Civic Alternator harness wiring

Hi everyone, I'm young and new to the whole restoration thing. I discovered that my cars alternator plug was disconnected from the wires (old three port) I have no idea which wire is supposed to go the which port! I tried some mix and match but nothing worked.

A little info...
The alternator has an external regulator, the connection looks like this
I_I
the end that runs from the car into the alternator has disconnected behind the harness, leaving me with three frayed wires. I want to get the connection corrected in the original harness but need to know where the wires go.
I will include pictures upon request.
Thank you!

Welcome to the forums.

Mix and match can have disastrous results as electronics don't like that.

What colors are the wires you have ?
Is this your plug ? It matches the Denso line of alternators.

The wires are solid black, yellow with a red stripe and yellow with a black stripe.

Sorry.... the picture I posted went missing. I re-posted it in my first post.
I'll look for the wiring color code for you.

That is not the correct plug, I'm not sure how to post the actual picture I took of it. It looks like a skull with two ports as eyes and the third as a mouth.
