Rumble in drivetrain

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what's making this noise before I go tearing things apart?

Id have said it was a wheel bearing but it started about 2 years ago and keeps passing warrants (vehicle inspection NZ 12monthly), they say they're fine. No slop in any wheels. No noise at full lock.

The rumble can only really be heard above 60kph, and lately it seems to change pitch (goes up in RPM/frequency) when loaded, turning right. Passengers say they can't hear anything but I think the video speaks for itself, I can feel the floor vibrating under my feet on a quiet highway.
Dropping into neutral and idling doesn't change anything so the problem must be wheel side of the gearbox.

Thanks in advance!
Josh

We had a wheel bearing that did that. Started as a barely noticeable noise when turning right (only). Drove on it for many miles... it finally ended up getting a lot worse and we had it checked out. It was indeed a wheel bearing. Sometimes your first inclination is the right one.

Which one, just out of interest? To me it sounds like the front right, but past experience has told me nothing is what it seems when it comes to noises when heard from inside the car...

In this case it was right front.

Very hard to tell from the video. I know it's 4 wheel drive.
Not familiar with the exact rear drive components.
As a guess........
wheel bearings
CV joints
Rear/differential
Drive shaft universal joint

Way to narrow it down PJ 😝 haha.

The change in pitch during turns makes me think it's unlikely to be anything inside of the drive axle, that shouldn't move during turns, so diff, gearbox etc unlikely right? I'll pull it apart and see what I find anyway.

The wheel bearing is definitely suspect, quite a growl with just slow rotation.

I expected to see a seal against the back of the bearing, is what I'm looking at here missing a part or correct?

What's the process here, press out the hub from the back and then press out the bearing from the front?

Thanks again,
Josh

You just remove the 4 bolts, newer bearings are bolted on, cartridge or loose bearings are many generations old!

Yeah I got there in the end. After pressing the two sides apart and realising the race was part of the hub. Makes them awfully expensive.

Thanks for the help anyway car is back to smooth silent crusing.

Cheers
