Dodge Caravan question

I have a 2002 caravan se 6 cyl.

It buckled and the check engine light came on but kept going. I stopped quickly and checked the transmission fluid and it's full. I had it flushed 5000 miles ago. It starts and shifts hard from neutral to drive and won't go past 2nd gear. I babied it 10miles home.
From the reading I've done it seems that there's a solenoid pack that needs to be replaced.

Does this seem right and how much will this rum me? I have 265k miles on it.

Thank you

Chuck

I believe the car's computer puts the engine/transmission into a limp mode when certain detectable malfunctions are sensed. Why did you first check the transmission fluid? What was the OBD fault code? You should get malfunction repaired. Then the repair shop should be able to get the vehicle out of the limp mode.

Bob,
Thanks for the reply.
The code is P0755. Sorry I forgot to include that I stopped at autozone along the way home.
I checked the fluid as I rarely drive the van.
Thanks again.

This code indicates an automatic transmission shift solenoid problem. Unless you can change it yourself, take it to a transmission shop.

But at 265k miles, don't be surprised if it needs more.

Here's some good info on that code:
