2016 Chevy Volt

Against my better Judgement, My Daughter bought a 2016 Chevy Volt hybrid a year ago. Not long after that purchase, her fuel door (the one for the gasoline on the right side of the car) locked up and she could not put gas in it. The dealer fixed it under warranty at that time. A week or so ago, the same thing happened. She took it back to the same dealer and they fixed the problem but created another. A check engine light came on, and she also had a goofy charge indication come up (the car was telling her that it was not recharging correctly) It is back at the dealer now, and they are saying that it was a faulty fuel door actuator and not covered under warranty. This explanation is not registering for me, since this all happened after the car was fixed the second time for the locked up fuel door. I am getting the challenge of dealing with the dealer in regard to the 700 dollars they want to charge to fix all this. At age 73 I am old school but try to keep up as best as I can. Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on with this fuel cap and actuator door, and what my best next move might be?

Chevy Volt fuel door sticks

Volt is actually a very good car, low warranty and was surprised GM dropped it but then they did nothing to sell the car to the public.

You need to find a new dealer to address what should be some simple issues!

Marq, 2granddaughters asked a moderator to delete HIS post (about sending my daughter into the dealer) I (WML13) did not ask for a deletion) I agree about the new dealer option, but would like to more about the technical aspects of a fuel door tripping a check engine light before I get there. Knowledge is POWER!
