Brake Pedal Goes UP

2005 Hyundai Elantra
Zillion miles

Son said occasionally when braking as it slows to about 15 mph he hears/feels a thump and the pedal pushes up. Also said it seems to be from the rear of the car.

I have no idea what that could be, brakes work fine otherwise.

Anyone have a clue?

Thanks

The only thing that comes to mind might be ABS activation. A bad sensor could be causing it to activate, it makes noise and you certainly feel it in the pedal!

Of course, never entered my brain. He did mention if he sneaks up to the stop sign it usually doesn't do it - ding ding ding.

Thank you sir, summer is coming.
