can voltage be measured to car speaker?

I think I may have a broken wire going to the speaker in the door of my van. I was wondering if there is a measurable voltage going out to the speaker?

Thanks

There is not a known voltage you could check for as the speaker is driven by a fluctuating AC voltage. You would need to use an ohmmeter to check from the speaker to the radio plug.

Ok, thanks. That's kind of what I figured but wasn't sure.

If you can disconnect the wires at both ends you can twist them together on one end then test for continuity on the other end. Or, you could tape the ends to a battery and check for voltage at the other end.
