Scalloped tire

Hi All, due to poor front end alignment one of the tires has a scalloped inside edge, had front end alignment and rotated tires , obviously the thumping is still the even the tread on the tire is still good , my question is can this edge be smoothed out to releave some of the thumping?

They used to true up tires by cutting them down slightly, I don't know if anyone still does that. The tire will somewhat correct itself the more miles you put on it.

Shops quit messing with tires, unless you can still find indy that believes, he may escape liability issues. No siping, no shaving, nothing. Country of litigation took its toll.

Thanks, I have driven about 10K and it’s hasn’t improved, tire still has good tread so I guess I will live with it for awhile.

Not sure where to put this but since it's going in a car, I'm starting here. Just bought a 2008 Chrysler Sebring from a neighbor for the daughter to drive. One of the flaws in the vehicle is the dashboard/instrument cluster lights do not work (known and common issue if you google it). Fixing it is looking more and more like an expensive crapshoot so I'm looking for a work-around: if I could attach a very small LED to the top of the steering column, I think it would do the job. Would have to be battery operated and switched so it could be turned off when not needed. Anyone have any ideas?Read More

Change spark plugs?

I am having a fight with myself! A have a 2008 Taurus SE, V-6, with 120,000 miles. It runs great, starts and idles great and gets the same mileage it did new. What I'm struggling with are the original spark plugs and wires. One part of me says I should change the plugs because owners manual says (I think) 90,000 miles and I'm a believer in good maintenance. The other part of me says if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Opinions? FYI, things sure have changed. My first car was a '57 chevy and I changed plugs, wires, points, condenser, rotor and cap every fall! Also checked timing at the same time. Now I look under the hood and I don't have a clue!Read More
