PT Crusier-Pass Airbag Idiot Light 2008

Attempting to assist my friend who has a PT Crusier (2008).

His passenger air bag light has been on for some time and he wants to know how to deactivate it (reasons I don't know). I have the service and repair manual for it. Been a while since I worked on electrical diagrams but I could struggle thru it.

I asked him if he should have it serviced to see why and he said he just wants the darn thing off.

I don't know what he should disconnect to shut this light off. I don't want to tell him the wrong thing and the air bag explodes/inflates.

Ideas/thought?

Thanks

Here are the codes he is getting with his scanner he connected to the car.

U0154
Lost communication with occupant classification Module
DTC Status
Active

also

B1BA6
Occupant Classification Undertermined
DTC Status
Active

He wants to know where the module is located. I have the electrical specs but don't know what to look for. A step in the right direction would help

Thanks

Often there is a sensor built into the seat to sense if someone is sitting in the seat. On my Hyundai elantra I found the wires had disconnected from the sensor grid on the seat cushion. I had to remove the seat cover and solder the connection back together to repair it. It plugged in under the seat. Might be worthwhile to look into repair than bypass as that would mean the passenger airbag would not work if he had an accident.

badeyeben thanks for your feed back. Appreciated very much!!

UPDATE
No need to reply to this thread any longer. My friend sold the vehicle.
I had no idea he was going to do that. He bought it at auction a year ago like many of his other cars. The person he sold it to today said they know how to deal with the issue and my friend agreed to reduce the price of the car. Even then my friend made money on it.

Thank you again badeyeben and others that read the post for your time.
