Windshield replacement by car dealer

Would a new car dealer's body shop be able to replace a windshield just as well as a glass shop would do it?
Thanks.

Certainly. It may cost a bit more but their body shops are very capable of that task.

My local european dealership farms the replacement out to another local glass company. Ask if it is actually their employees that do the replacement and not "contractors". If it isn't their own W-2 employees your just paying an extra markup.

Have never know a dealership that didn't farm out the work, they don't do enough to justify doing it in house!

They intended to have another shop do it but for whatever reason they can't, so the dealer ordered the part and says his dealer body shop will put it in.
As long as the job turns out well, that's all that matters to me.

My Honda dealer doesn't farm it out, they just don't do it. Instead they recommend a auto glass franchise.

I don't have to pay the bill on this windshield, the dealer does.
