probably need some more details is it overheating and blowing coolant out? does it overheat at idle or while driving? do you have anyway of reading the coolant temp like data from an inexpensive scan tool? does it have any leaks have you did a pressure test on the system.

As far as I know it's not loosing coolant. Have no pressure test kit, funny thing is it will sit at idle for long periods just fine .. as soon as I put it in gear, temp starts climbing. Also clapping noise when 200 degrees or more coming from cap resivour, which I believe to be air pushing water out ?..

I safely bet you have blown head gasket and exhaust is getting into coolant. Leave cap open and watch for like beer foam coming into coolant.

may be a head gasket but I have put in bad thermostats before really may pull it out and test in a pan of water. also, would look at your cooling fan is it a 2 speed fan how do you have it wired up low or high.
