Oil Change Due warning.

I change oil in my cars and trucks religiously by the mileage driven. I just changed the oil in my 2017 Chrysler 300 a few weeks ago, but I continue to get a "change oil soon" notification on the screen on the dash in the car. How do you tell the car that it's oil HAS been changed to eliminate this warning?

I have always figured that changing oil was cheaper than changing an engine. (I will never forget when I was visiting a guy who did some auto work repair for me that I didn't want to do myself. He was removing the oil pump and a (snapped in half ) oil pump drive shaft from a Lincoln that was owned by a man who never changed oil, just the oil filter. The goo that was in the bottom of that pan was a sight to behold!

The info should be in your owners manual.
My 2016 Dodge Caravan I have to turn the key to "on" (NOT START) and slowly push the gas pedal down & up 3 times (within 3 seconds I believe). Turn key off then on & start. - should be good to go

On some vehicles, you have to go into the "Info Center" and scroll through the options until you get to the "oil changed" option and click that. As 2granddaughters stated, the instructions should be in your owners manual.

Most cars have on screen settings that you need to find.... then reset oil life when you change oil.

Well I never would have guessed that the procedure for getting rid of the warning would be what it turned out to be!
For THIS car you engage the start button without having your foot on the brake (Like you normally would to start the car.) push the ACCCELLERATOR pedal down slowly 3 times within 30 seconds. Press the start button to either start the car (while pushing in on the brake pedal this time) or shut off the electronics completely. The manual did not say anything about resetting the system to warn me to change the oil at a certain mileage or anything. It said it would watch my driving habits and warn me accordingly. Makes no sense to me, as i am going to change the oil when I want to based on the oil type I use. (synthetic)

With my 2010 Jeep [chrysler product] you go thru the key/gas peddle deal and then the oil change icon comes back on at the next 6k interval. I also find it more annoying than helpful. I've gotten where I just ignore the warning.

Love our older Toyota method; select "Trip 1" on panel, turn key off, press and hold the display select button, turn key back on, release button after it resets.

Just as a follow up, the key/gas pedal 3 times DID work to eliminate the oil change due warning. "when all else fails read the the manual"
