2018 jeep compass latitude
jeep compass latitude, 2018 55k miles. I was looking for brake pads for this vehicle. I noticed they have ceramic, sem-metallic, hybrid, and carbon fiber. I was wondering if anyone knows which of these is the longest wearing, cleanest, most dust free pads? before there was only ceramic and semi-metallic and I always assumed the ceramic was best, but don't know anymore. thanks in advance.

If you search online there is a lot of discussion and information available. There is no definitive "best". It's a compromise among features so you have to pick what's best or most important to you.

Semi metallic are the best for stopping but also produce the most "dust" since they basically grind the rotors down.
Being a ex-brake engineer for one of the big three, I can say with confidence that your OEM pads are the best option for your vehicle. They are thoroughly validated to the requirements of the vehicle.
Aftermarket pads are all made of a generic material manufactured to fit different vehicles. You simply do not get the "best" performance for your application.
