Mustang 2010 V6 windshield wiper issue need part

Hello, I have a 2010 Ford Mustang. The windshield wipers don't work. They stay on or stay off. Need a part that Ford says it no longer in stock. AR3T-13K359-AAW. Replacement part. Trying everywhere to find one. Any help is appreciated.

The windshield wipers don't work. They stay on or stay off.
That doesn't make much sense.
The part you are looking for is the control stalk.
That is only one part of the intermittent wiper system.
How do you know that is the defective part ??

Your going to need to diagnose the system a little better than that.

I see that part for sale at many places for around $100. $40-50 on Ebay.
Just google the part number and many retailers will be listed.

the issue is the switch. My Husband replaced the wiper motor a while back and he tested it again and it works fine. Another symptom, I forgot to mention, is the wiper fluid sprays and will not stop. and now the wipers will now come on at all.
Ford dealer gave us the part number as AR3Z-13K359-AA and the Motorcraft number was SW6711. The number off the switch we pulled out of the car was slightly different as I showed in my original post,AR3T-13K359-AAW.
Yes, I see this part number everywhere on the web also, but if you contact the seller, they are out of stock.
Ford says the part has been discontinued. thank-you for any info.

Apparently it has been discontinued by Ford.
Some dealers show it as a special order.
You need to call several Ford dealers and ask them to search their parts distribution.
Some dealer could possibly have it somewhere.

Nothing on ebay.
Your next step is salvage yards.

Thank you. Tried so many places it is been frustrating. I could not believe a part could be discontinued for a 2010. Trying junk yards now. Also, taking to a place that buys cars and see if there is any value for it. Told them straight up the problem with the windshield wipers. It has 83,800 miles on it. Hope it is worth something. Talked to Ford twice about part and they gave me options and all out of stock and discontinued.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Do you think I could purchase a steering column and switches for 2015 mustang and it would fit in my 2010? The 2010 to 2014 part is discontinued. They started making a new one in the 2015 Mustang. Wonder if it would work? Any thoughts please.

the car really is not that old while I do not see any wiper switches available either I think its likely just temporary and the aftermarket brands will likely fill the demand eventually I would likely keep searching for used switches and for new switches under motorcraft, standard, duralast and other main manufacturer part numbers. to see if you can eventually find one in stock not really that much help to you now though.

If it doesn't rain. Very upsetting. The steering column for the 2015 they do have and maybe $200. Just don't know if it would work.

the rain x glass treatments works fairly well if your wipers are not working at all.

I don't know what that the x glass treatment could be? Please share if it would work. It needs the multi functional switch. The wipers are not working at all. Called Ford again and they have not responded. This switch if in the Mustangs from 2010 to 2014. Discontinued part. Took to Ford dealer months ago and I was twenty two in line for same issue. They sent me home and said they would call when part came in..
The part is no longer available. As I said discontinued.

I would call all your local part stores and ask why these parts are not in stock, if ford discontinued it you really are looking for aftermarket brands to support the supply and demand they show part numbers but just says out of stock so they at least had to make some for them to be a part number and on there website see if it can be ordered in.
rain x is just a glass treatment that causes water to bead up on the windshield effectively allowing you to see in rain much better even without working wipers. you should be able to buy it at any parts store walmart etc they even make windshield washer fluid with it in it but without working wipers you probably want the spray and wipe on type.

Still not working - made upgrades

Thanks for the links. I found a used switch on auction site. It matched car. It still does not work correctly. Windshield wipers do not work and sprayer does not work. In addition the headlights when in automatic mode do not turn off during the day.

Went further and replaced the smart junction box due to corrosion. Bought from Ford parts department and brand new. Nothing changed.

Any suggestions please?

probably need to use a voltmeter or test light and check all fuses for a starting point so you have no wipers on any speed?

The fuse to the windshield wipers has been confirmed as working. No wipers at any speed.

The symptoms you describe (no wiper, corrosion, sprayer and lights coming on randomly) sound like short. Either frayed wires, wires that are touching, or connectors that have loose pins and corrosion.
Battery should read at least 12.6V, cables clean and tight, and grounding points to engine block and body are clean and tight.
Electronic probe tools make troubleshooting easier, but basic multimeter will do the job.
Check battery voltage at battery terminal. Now leave positive multimeter lead on positive terminal and put ground lead on clean metal point of engine block. You should get same voltage reading as battery terminal.
Next put positive lead on positive battery terminal, and put negative lead on the body of the wiper motor. You should get same voltage that you read at battery and on engine block.
If ground continuity is good you can move to checking inputs at the wiper motor. I believe you will have 4 wires and a plug going to wiper motor. If you want to do this check, let me know the color of the wires going to the wiper motor. I think red, brown, green, and blue but coloring is not standard. You mention that you already checked the wiper motor for operation, you can skip this step if you'd like and start working from plug back to control stalk.

the symptoms changed with the installation of the new smart junction box. the new issues are blinkers flash twice as fast and the tire pressure sensor says there is fault, implying one of the sensors is bad. we just replaced all 4 about 3 weeks ago and everything was fine until I installed the new junction box due to observed corrosion on some of the connector pins. I now believe the issue lies with the connectors them selves for the new issues.
We did confirm the voltages across the battery are the same as voltage from battery + to engine block and wiper motor. The wiper motor was replaced last spring and was working fine until it was not.

we cannot confirm at this point if the newly acquired multifunction switch is good or bad. It is a used unit from a 2011 mustang bought off ebay. we need to try and find out so we can return it if it is bad and keep it if it is good. Does anyone have the pin out for the plug for that switch. If I can jump some pins, and see the motor come on, that would imply the switch is bad. but if the motor remains off, then the switch "might be" OK and the issue remains with the wiring on/connected to the junction box, we think.

thank-you for all the advice and support.

also, this morning when my husband was driving it, the windshield sprayer started to spray on its won and could not be stopped. So he pulled over and pulled the fuse. Luckily he had fluid in the tank to prevent the motor from running dry.
So still no wipers at any speed. Washer fluid sprays on its own and does not stop. The head lights, when turned on via the auto function, do not shut off in broad daylight. when using the turn signals, they blink twice as flash as usual. and the tire pressure monitoring system says there is a fault. We have retrained the sensors and it remains in alert. thank-you

You asked about the pin out. I don't have that but should be easy enough to determine. What color are the wires going into the plug on the car side, and what order are they in? One will be high speed, one will be low speed, and two will be park. Red is often the high speed input. The high and low speed are usually on one side, and the two park wires are on the other side.
This is where a probe tool is helpful if you have one.

multifunction switch has 11 wires

the multifunction switch has 11 wires coming into it; which controls hi/low beam for head lights, left/right turn signal, windshield fluid spray and the windshield wiper controls. there are 2 rows of pins/wires some skip a space so that there is only one wire in a column.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I was asking about the wires going to the wiper motor.
But it's good that you have access to the plug that connects to the multifunction switch, you will be able to do a continuity check between the switch and the wipers.
For the plug going to the multifunction switch, are you able to check each pin to determine which is power (with key in on position), and which pins are grounded?
Are you able to match up the wires going to the plug to the pin, the colors?

yes, we can pull the wipers and the cover to get to the motor and that plug and check continuity back to the switch.. it will take a while to get collect the wire color and write it all down. Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July.
thank-you.
