1992 Dodge dynasty 3.3L-tranny problem

I have a 1992 dodge dynasty with the 3.3L V6. My transmission will not shift unless it is warmed up for about 20-30 minutes idling. When it does warm up, it will only stay in 2nd gear, unless i restart the engine. the it shifts fine through all gears.

Have the transmission checked by a professional. Some of these vehicles have modules and electronic controllers that control them. It may be at fault if so equipped.

Check your fluid level and condition. If it's ok, the transmission likely has internal failure. These 4 speed automatics in the Chryslers gave up hope quickly.

Mileage on it?

It has 144,000 miles on it and the fluid looks fine and is not burnt. could there be a line pressure problem causing this?

Sure. Again, 144k on a Chrysler overdrive tranny is good. They usually give up sooner than that !
