Steering is rough?

1997 Chevy Lumina, power steering "clunks" when I turn the steering wheel. When I turn the wheel, it kinda sticks and I have to apply more pressure than usual to get it to turn.

Low fluid or something else?

Please reply to [email protected].

Thank you!

Hi Dan,

I would suggest to check for the fluid first if its low. Maybe Joe can help you with this problem. He is a GM Guru. He knows GM very well.

I'd definately check the fluid and the drive belt.It also could be a
pump or rack and pinion getting ready to go out.

Check your fluid, change the drive belt and listen to the noises as you turn.

Yes, I agree with Fordtech. Likely a bad rack.
