Oil Light
I have a '92 Mecury Sable 3.8 and the oil light on the car goes on and off. It is on when the car is stopped, but when I hit the gas it goes off.
I have checked the oil and it is fine.
Can someone please advise to what could be causing this.

Internal oil pressure problems/engine problems, or a bad oil sending unit.
Change the oil sending unit. If that does not help, have the oil pressure checked with a reliable gauge. If that is normal, there's a problem in the wiring to the light or you got a defective switch.
If the oil pressure with the hand held gauge doesn't check out and is low versus the published spec in the service manual, the engine has internal failure. (bad oil pump, clogged pickup screen, etc).
