toyota R22 ENGINE OIL LEAK

I am in the middle of tracking an oil leak on my 1985 Toyota truck. I have misplaced my manual so I do not have it at the moment to reference.
I have the water pump, oil pump and the accessory brackets removed from the front of the engine. I believe my oil leak is just below the oil pump at the pan forward flange. How is it that the front cover (timing chain cover) comes off? Are there bolts under the valve cover I need to remove? I am even thinking my oil pump was where the leak was at but not 100% sure is why I am leaning towards the cover?

The cyl. head needs to be removed before you can remove the front cover.

Don't worry, though. Chances are your oil pump was the source of the leak. It's a pretty common leak point on these engines.

Get a new oil pump seal and a new front crankshaft seal, put it back together & check for leaks. Let us know what happens.
