fuel problem

I have a 92 Aerostar 4.0--- Fuel pump humming and does not run well---replaceed the pump and now the car is dumping so much fuel it is coming out of the exhaust and will not run. My thoughts were maybe the fuel regulator or perhaps whatever tells the fuel reg what to do.I hate to just keep replacing parts
Any help would be appreciated.

Whoa Nelley. Stop the parts replacement. You'll replace more parts than the van is worth

Get a fuel pressure gauge from the parts store and check the regulated fuel pressure to see if it matches the spec in the book.

Yes, the fuel pressure regulator could be bad as well as the computer, but take it in strides.
