91 Ford Ranger Transmission

I need to know the way the linkage is set on a 91 Ford Ranger, 5 speed..... I can find everything for an automatic but not on a standard.

The linkage for what??.A standard shift transmission in a 91 Ranger doesn't have any linkage to the transmission, the shifter just goes in from the top.

Well I am a woman and never messed with a trans before, please forgive me..... I took the gearshift out and the gears are not..... synchronized, you have the shifter in neutral, but the trans in gear..... do you know what I am talking about now?? I hope so, because I can't afford to have it fixed....

Sorry, your more then capable of fixing it you don't have to be a man to do so,i just wasn't familiar with any linkage so i just needed you to give a little more detail.
Looking through the opening in the tranmission where the shifter goes you'll see what called shift levers. One of them is either pushed forward or backwards thereby the transmission is in gear.Take a lond flat screwdriver and push or pull the one that's misaligned into line with the other two. When they're aligned you'll be in neutral and the shifter should go straight in.
