Question Belt off on Buick

I would like to know where to find information/illustrations on how to replace/re-install the 'belt' on a 1991 Buick Park Avenue (fully loaded). It has fallen off, how would I know if the belt is still good, or needs replacing. Thanx

Should be an installation diagram on a sticker somewhere under the hood. Assuming it's a serpentine belt (one big long belt), they don't just fall off, so you'll need to check to see if you have either a broken tensioner (the spring loaded pulley that keeps belt tight) or bad component causing it to throw the belt. If you can't remember the last time you replaced the belt it's probably time; check the parts stores, they can probably show you a diagram, too. You'll need a wrench or socket & breaker bar to rotate the tensioner when you install the belt; other than that shouldn't be too complicated unless there is a problem with access, i.e. too much stuff in the way. Good luck.
