how to replace belt on a 1995 Olds Achieva 3.1L 6cyl

Hit your parts store or library for a repair manual.

In short, find the tensioner. Put a socket handle into the slot or a wrench on the bolt. Lift up. Remove the old belt. Route the new one the same as the old and put the tensioner on it.

Done.

Thanks for your quick response. Your info was helpful. But I forgot to mention an important detail. This paticular model has an upper motor mount above the drive belt. It would seem it would have to be removed first. The library did not have the detailed info for this model. May try another library. Again thanks. JOE

Sometimes you might have to swing the mount out of there to gain access.

You do on my mother's 1993 Saturn SL2 to replace the belt. Not hard really. I do the belt every four years as a matter of course.
