new vs rebuilt delco alternator
I am fed up with the alternators 4 bad ones in a row from the parts house.I am going for the Delco brand as advised not the cheaper rebuilt in Mexico one.A new one from Delco costs about 400 dollars as per the parts guy and a rebuilt also by Delco in a Delco box is 112 dollars. It is for a 96 Buick skylark,My question is what is replaced on a Delco rebuilt unit?I am sick of changing the things and I would like any feedback. Thanks

A Delco rebuilt should include all updated parts and is fine for this application.
No way I would spend 400 bucks on a 1996 Skylark alternator . I rebuild my own in most cases .
Make sure as I instructed earlier that you change the drive belt if it is over 4 years old.
