88 toyota pickup exhaust manifold

I believe I have a leak in myexhaust manifold gasket. Are there any short cuts or special things I need to know before I replace it. '88 Toyota pickup standard 4 speed with 22r, carborated.

Checked the Haynes manual for my '95 that also covers earlier years; I don't see anything strange, looks pretty straightforaward.

Just did this on a '88 celica with 22R. Bolts were a b**** to get off. Spray liberally with Liquid Wrench and let soak in before removing.

Good Luck!

Most exhaust shops can handle this pretty inexpensively and painlessly .

Sometimes it's worth it.
