Fan Shroud Scrape On Chevy S10

I HAVE A FAN SHROUD SCRAPING ON THE TOP SIDE ON MY 1994 CHEVY S10, 4.3L, 2W DRIVE, AUTO TRANS.

I SEE NO WAY TO EITHER DROP THE FAN DOWN OR RAISE THE
SHROUD UP, AS BOTH OF THEM ARE FORM FIT MOUNTED.

PLEASE HELP. THANKS

The fan and clutch should come out and then the shroud will come out.

You might have bad motor mounts which are causing the engine to shift and hit the shroud.

Joe's right, check for bad motor mounts. But I've also seen where the shroud on top of the fan "flattens out" with age. People leaning on it, etc to look into the engine compartment.

Just another angle to look at.

THANKS JOE & XIII13 BOTH. I'LL LOOK INTO POSSIBLE MOTOR MOUNTS.

fan rub

check the core support mounts or the radiator mounts. some times the rubber rings fall out or get misaligned
