High idle

1993 Dodge Dakota, 5.2 liter... runs in high idle all the time and the throttle body has turned black, would like to know why???

Running too rich.

High idle is due to a dirty throttle body and probably a bad idle air control valve.

Could also have a bad PCV system causing carbon and soot buildup from oil blowby.
