mitsubishi automatic gearbox

i own a mitsubishi lancer (mirage? in the states)1997 model 20l diesel with an automatic gearbox that has one specific problem. the second gear is always very rough on the change from first, and that is intensified the SLOWER i accelarate the car...
also is any automatic gearbox oil good for my car?

whats the difference between dexron ii and dexron iii?

Dexron III is probably what they want, but check your owner's manual to be sure.

Change your fluid and bring it to the right level. If that doesn't help, likely internal failure such as a stuck solenoid or torque converter problems.
