Post 88 Daytona Speedometer

My '88 Dodge Daytona has an electronic speedometer. Last week it just stopped working. I am trying to find a way to determine what componant is faulty using a multi meter. Anyone have any ideas besides sending the old girl to the dealer

Send the cluster out to a parts store and their electronics remanufacturer can test it to be sure it is OK.

Barring that, you will need a service manual to determine the fault, a subscription to www.alldata.com for the test procedures.

Frankly, many service manuals say "Return the cluster to an authorized repair center if fault inside is suspected and all else checks out".

Get the service manual which will guide you through the diagnostics.

Alldata as mentioned is one option.
