1990 Honda Civic

Car: 1990 Honda Civic, 5 Speed

Started the vehicle this morning and it ran on high idle for about 1 minute or so. After that the idle slowly decreases until vehicle stalls. Start again no problem but does the same thing each time. Duration of run time is shorter after each start. Seems that the problem begins as the motor begins to warm. Pressing the gas while vehcile running doe not help - seems to make it worse.

I am assuming that this is a fuel/air mixture problem - too much fuel??. Vehicle has 250,000 KM and burns a small amount of oil. Code under passenger side carpet gives single flash for oxygen sensor and has been doing that for some time with no affect on idle.

Any ideas are appreciated....

Might be a fuel problem.

Check my signature file and my post "The Basics" for more ideas.

Change the O2 sensor as well. Fuel mileage will improve.
