Starting problem

I am working out of town and when i got to the hotel i shut my truck (1999 Chevy S-10 Standard) off and went in to register. When i returned i tried to start it but it wouldn't turn over. The lights still work but i can't get the engine to turn over.. PLEASE HELP. any ideas on what could be the problem?

Need to be more specific.

Doesn't crank?
Cranks but won't start?
Starts, runs, but doesn't stay running?
Engine size?
Mileage?
Last time it has seen service?
Recent repairs/problems?
