roar in right front drive axle

After having new axle installed , I am getting a roar from the right front end area at around 4000 rpm. When on the interstate it usually starts about 75mph and goes away at 85mph. Only the axle on the right side was replaced along with cv joint but they used the same bearing. I was told sometimes when the axle is replaced, it will cause the bearing to go out. The car is an 85 volkswagen Jetta with 1.8 litre engine. with about 200,000 miles on it.

With that mileage, likely a wiped out bearing. Replace both front bearings and should be ok.

I wouldn't worry about the noise problem i'd worry more about the state police catching me going 75 to 85 !!
