Hesitation in 318

Yes I have a truck with a 318 when I hit the gas hard it like hesitates or misses. I had just given a tune up about a year ago. The guy at at the auto store said exchange the wire's could be bad so I did still having the same problem. When I was changing the wires one of the wire's that go into the distributer and the connection on the distributer was corroided and was light blue in color. I cleaned it out real goood before putting new wire's in. What caused that and do you think I should change the distributer cap again. What else should I try ?? Thanks for any help

Year and model of the truck?

Give it a full tuneup to eliminate possible causes for concern in the ignition system.

If it's carbureted, you might have issues there as Chrysler carbureted 318's were not the bastion of reliability or performance in their era.
