Performance Exhaust

I have a 1995 Chevy 2500 4x4 with the 5.7 engine. I have installed a Hypertech chip and a K&N filter.

I need to replace the exhaust sytem and possibly the catalytic (rotten egg smell). I understand that the proper exhaust can increase Hp and torque, but I don't want to dramatically increase the sound (especially in the cab). I would like to keep it a little higher than OE. Is there such an exhaust system out there? If so, do you have any recommendations (brand) for the system (muffler type, catalytic, pipe size, etc.)?

I would be greatful for any information.

Thanks,

Mike

Flowmaster and Dynomax both offer excellent cat back systems for a truck like this.

I would check out either of them.

My 1980 parts car/project Trans Am has Flowmasters on it, with NO exhaust pipes. Needless to say it's quite throaty and loud with the retrofitted 1977 Pontiac 400 in the engine bay .

Mike, I'd recommend Flowmaster too. My friend has one on the same truck that you have and he loves it. You can see the different models that they offer at www.flowmastermufflers.com
