Unhappy 92 Sentra electrical problems

Big problem - I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I bought a 92 Nissan Sentra (100K) last May. In June the alternator went out and I had it replaced.

In October I replaced the starter and the battery. In December the alternator went again. I asked the guy who fixed it to take a good look at the electrical system - and I think he's pretty good. He found some bare wires under the care and he replaced them - other than that all the tests were fine and everything looked fine.

In January the alternator went again - I had the alternator and the battery replaced by a Nissan dealer. I told the dealer that it wasn't just the alternator and at first he promised that he was going to get to the bottom of it, then gave me the car back and said it was the alternator.

Last week (around Feb 15) the same thing happend. My girlfriend has the car in Baltimore - she's going to kill me or dump me. I haven't taken it anywhere, but I'm positive it's the same problem. It drives fine during the day, but the battery is gone.

I'm fairly certain the guy who sold me the car knew about this problem. I basically got jacked and at this point I'm totally stumped as to what to do.

Bare wires mean something burned, rubbed through or got chaffed in an accident.

What's the history of the car? These era Sentras are not very good.....

I would go back to the other guys that did the "repairs" and have them rectify it...you paid good money to have it fixed.

If a Nissan reman alternator was not used, install one. Some parts store rebuilts are crap.
