Electrical Problems in a 1990 Nissan Maxima

I have a wiring problem. The windshield wipers and the clock does not go off when the car is turned off. If the car sits for 8-12 hrs without it being driven; the car shuts down and I need a jump to start up again. Is one of the relay switches is stuck or does this car needs a complete wiring overhaul. I have purchased a new battery and it is doing the same thing. What is really going on???!!!

Likely a stuck diode in the alternator. Replace it with a rebuilt unit (preferably from Nissan) and you should be ok.

You can check the alternator output in my post The Basics listed below in the signature file.
