Question Head lights

My headlights don't work. I put in new dimmer switch and on/of switch. I have a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I don't know where the relay switch is. Can anyone help?

The headlight switch should have a built in breaker.

If the fuses check out, you might look to a bad headlight switch. Only a couple of bucks at any parts store.

There is also a fusible link coming off of the start that supplies all of the power for this car except the starter itself.

The fusible links will be on the same lug on the starter as the large power cable coming from the battery

When the links are bad they will break the wire on the inside and a good check for this is to pull on the wires themselves.

If you pull on it and it feels elastic, the wire is probably broken.

I have a 82 cutlass supreme... Good luck 1200 bucks ten years later....
